Today two Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators were sworn in as Task Force Officers with the U.S. Marshal Service Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force at the Federal Court House in Knoxville, TN.
Sergeant Detective Marty Branam and Sergeant Detective Austin Parton both were sworn in by Eastern District of Tennessee U.S. Marshal David Jolley today in front of their families and personnel from LCSO.
Both detectives are the first ever sworn U.S. Marshal Task Force Officers in the history of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office and will serve in a part-time role while continuing their full-time role as a Criminal Investigator with LCSO.
The Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force’s primary mission is to seek out and arrest, in a coordinated manner, persons who have outstanding state and/or federal warrants for their arrest. The intent of this joint effort will be to increase public safety throughout East Tennessee and the apprehension of state and federal fugitives.
