Sheriff Jimmy Davis presented a new award to Loudon County youth baseball players for their performance in a State Championship and World Series.

Recently the Greenback 8U Youth Baseball Team won the State Championship and earned an appearance in the Dixie Youth World Series in Hattisburg, MS. Additionally, the Sweetwater 10U Youth Baseball Team won the Dixie Youth World Series, where 3 players on that team are Loudon County residents and attend Philadelphia Elementary School.

Sheriff Davis and members of his Command Staff presented both, the Greenback 8U Team and, the three members from Philadelphia of the 10U Sweetwater team, the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office 5 Star Sheriff’s Award for their exceptional performance on the baseball field. Joined with Sheriff Davis was Greenback Mayor Dewayne Birchfield and Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally and State Representative Lowell Russell, who presented proclamations to the Greenback 8U players and coaches.

The Sheriff’s 5 Star Award is presented to community members who have made significant achievements in their professions and gone above and beyond what is expected.
