Sheriff Jimmy Davis hosted a School Safety Summit this week at the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office.

This School Summit was the 2nd meeting over the last several months. The meetings were in response to updated school security and funding being pushed down by the State of Tennessee.

Topics discussed included additional funding for School Resource Officers, updated school security measures and safety and security compliance for schools.

In attendance were officials from the TN Department of Education, TN Office of Homeland Security, TN Highway Patrol, Loudon County Schools, Lenoir City Schools, Roane County Schools, Loudon County Sheriff’s Office, Roane County Sheriff’s Office, Oak Ridge Police Department, Lenoir City Police Department, Loudon Police Department and State Representatives Monty Fritts and Lowell Russell.
