Loudon County Project Lifesaver

Project Lifesaver offers to help locate family members who wander away or become lost. This is an international organization that helps search and rescue teams quickly locate missing individuals with wandering conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia.

Each client is equipped with a bracelet that houses a transmitter and a battery. Monthly battery changes are conducted by program personnel. This includes testing the unit for proper operation and installing a new battery.

Fraternal Order of Police

Fraternal Order of Police membership is open to all members of the community.  If you are not a law enforcement officer you may join the FOP as an Associate Member.  The FOP is a charitable organization that is involved with charitable causes that have a direct impact on Loudon County.

Loudon County Jail Information


Thursday and Sunday
NOON to 5:00 PM

Inmates are allowed thirty minutes for visitation on Thursday and thirty minutes on Sunday.  Up to five adults may visit the same inmate during the same thirty minute allowance.  Your name must be on the inmates approved list in order for your visit to be authorized.  You must show a photo ID upon signing in to visit.  Anyone under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by an adult whose name is on the approved list.  No correspondence (ie: cards, notes, photos) will be accepted through visitation.  ALL PERSONS AND BELONGINGS ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH.  The Loudon County Jail, including the visitation area, is a NON SMOKING FACILITY.

Approved Items

Inmates may receive the following items ONCE during each incarceration:
  • 2 Pair Underwear
  • 2 White Tee Shirts (no pockets)
  • 2 Pair Socks
  • 1 Traditional Thermal Shirt (white/no buttons)
  • 2 Bras (No Underwire)
No other items will be accepted.  Additional items may be purchased from commissary, if desired.

Mail is delivered to our facility Monday through Friday except on Holidays.  Inmate mail call is conducted on Monday through Friday.  Please do not mail cash or photographs.  Inmates will not be allowed to view mail sent from anyone incarcerated from any correctional facility.  The corrections staff are not allowed to deliver messages to an inmate unless the death or hospitalization of a close relative can be confirmed.

Swanson services currently holds the contract for our inmate commissary service.  All monies in your possession upon arrest will be deposited into a commissary account within one to four business days.  Inmates may purchase up to forty dollars of commissary each week.  If you are released from custody prior to your order arriving you have five days to collect your items in person at the jail visitation area.  After five days your items will no longer be available.  Commissary checks may be picked up in person at the jail visitation area Monday thru Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM except on Holidays.  If you wish you can fill out a form upon release to have your check mailed to a specific address.  Money can be taken and receipted for an inmate 24/7 at the jail visitation area.

Loudon County Sheriff's Office Reserve Program

The Loudon County Sheriff's Office Reserve Program is an all volunteer organization. The Reserve Officers are citizens from various occupations who desire to give back to their community through law enforcement. The members of the Reserve Program are sworn and armed officers working alongside the full time professionals in the Loudon County Sheriff's Office. LCSO Reserve Officers meet or exceed all qualifications for Reserve Officers as set forth by the Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (P.O.S.T.) in Tennessee. A strict discipline of training and procedures provides the volunteer with the ability to augment the Sheriff's Office capabilities during emergencies, overload situations, and special assignments. Additionally, Reserve Officers provide for a law enforcement presence when requested by various community and civic organizations.

Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age, must be physically fit, must pass a background check, must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving history, must pass a psychological examination, must pass a Basic Law Enforcement Officer (L.E.O.) class, and have a high school diploma (or GED) and birth certificate to place on file.
